15.42 pm ONEPLUS ONE ANDROID LOLLIPOP UPDATE DELAYED
OnePlus One is one of the most popular devices among the tech savvy community. After the official announcement of Android 5.0, OnePlus stated the they will make the new version of the mobile OS available to their smart device within three months. However, the new firmware was later delayed, due to “proprietary drivers, code, QA, certifications“.
While the material design of the Android Lollipop is available to the OnePlus One via the custom ROM nightly build of CyanogenMod 12S, the official and stable update will be further delayed. The news comes from Twitter, from OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei. In an answer to a fan, Pei noted that an “L alpha” version was released a while ago, but “a more stable build will need to wait until March“. Apologizing for the delay, Pei also revealed that the global variant of OnePlus One will receive CM 12S, while the Indian Model will get the vendor’s own OxygenOS.
Those, who are eager to update their OnePlus One flagships to the newest version of Android, can check out the CM12 nightly guide. However, those who want a stable Lollipop experience will have to wait until March, when the official update is expected to be released.
