20.02 pm YU Yureka’s Facebook page teases Android 5.0 Lollipop update
Micromax’s online venture YU has teased an Android Lollipop update coming to its Yureka handset on its Facebook page.
The teaser seen on the YU Yureka page shows a mini join-the-dots puzzle, with a tagline ‘Coming Soon to a Yureka near you’. If you follow the dots, it forms a spiral lollipop which is the logo for Android 5.0.
The last dot ends at no. 26, so it might just be an indicator that YU Yureka would start getting the Lollipop update on the 26th of March. Nothing is confirmed yet.
Recently, in an interview to BGR India, Rahul Sharma, the co-founder of Yu Televentures, announced that YU would be launching ‘Project Ceaser’ with Cyanogen OS 12 on Android Lollipop next month.
YU Yureka smartphone runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat OS with the CyanogenMod CM11S ROM atop it. It is a 5.5-inch phone with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 SoC.
Being the first phone from the Yu brand, the Yureka comes with impressive specs. It’s powered by the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 system on chip which houses an octa-core processor clocked at 1.5GHz and the Adreno 405 GPU clocked at 550MHz. It comes paired with 2GB of DDR3 RAM and offers 16GB of storage of which 12.8GB is available to the user. You can expand the storage via the microSD card slot by 32GB. Yureka is a dual SIM phone and it supports Cat4 4G LTE with TDD 2300MHz and FDD 1800MHz bands supported for India.
